Skin Care Recipes - Using Ingredients in Your Home and Garden

Use Cucumber Slices and Peels to Instantly Cool Hot Skin  If you have been in the sun for too long or on the ski slopes all day, your skin is HOT and begging for cool relief. Put some Cool cumber slices or peels on the affected area(s).  You will not only get instant relief, the cucumber is also softening and moisturizing your skin and this will help to combat the wrinkles which are the sure result of over-exposure to the sun, wind, cold and heat.
If you use the cucumber peelings, make sure to watch out for the sharp edges.

Your skin will greatly benefit from a daily application of milk  Soak a cotton ball in milk and dab it on your just washed skin, do not avoid the eye area (just make sure your eyes are tightly closed), after you have applied the milk to your entire face and neck area, Rinse Thoroughly.  The fat in the milk is a great moisturizer and skin softener that will give your skin a nice youthful look and feel. Use whole milk if you have normal to dry skin, if you have oily skin, it may be best for you if you use low fat or skim milk.

Wrinkle Prone Skin Will Greatly Benefit From This Centuries Old Recipe  Blend one egg yolk with one tablespoon of honey, 1/4 teaspoon of almond oil and one tablespoon of plain yogurt.  Pat mixture over your entire face and neck area.  Leave the mixture on for 20 minutes and rinse thoroughly with warm water.  Because of the mess from this it will be better to use this right before your shower or bath.  When you use it before your bath or shower, you can apply the mixture over more parts of your body.
For Normal to Oily Skin  Make a paste using 1/4 cup of non-fat dry milk and one teaspoon of water.  Massage the paste into your skin using gentle strokes.  After a few minutes, rinse thoroughly.  You can also make enough to apply to your whole body before your bath or shower.  You entire body will feel soft and smooth.
Use Egg White to Remove Dirt.  To remove dirt and dead skin, smooth egg white over the clean skin of your face and neck area.  After the egg white has dried, rinse your face thoroughly with warm water.  Your skin will feel smoother and it will look refreshed.

Oatmeal will Soften, Soothe & Smooth Your Skin  If you want really soft and smooth skin use oatmeal.  Mix enough oatmeal with water to make a paste.   After you have let the mixture set for a few minutes, apply it to your skin.  You can let it dry or you can wash it off while it is still wet.  To get an even better effect, use a cotton ball to rub the oatmeal in your skin.  The cotton ball will remove even more dirt than if you use only your fingers.  You can also use a clean wash cloth, but I usually use a cotton ball or pad.
You can also use the oatmeal as an all over skin treatment.  While you are in the shower, apply the oatmeal mixture over your entire body.  You can use the oatmeal in the place of you regular soap.  The natural oil in the oatmeal will also moisturize your skin.
If you put the oatmeal in the blender, it will turn into a fine powder, you can use this power in many ways.  Sprinkle a little in your bath water, rub it onto your dry skin for instant relief...

Moisturize Your Dry Skin With a Banana  Mash one over-ripe banana with one teaspoon of almond meal and two tablespoons of plain yogurt.  Spread the mixture on your face and neck and leave it on for 10 minutes.  Rinse thoroughly with warm water.
Use Vaseline or Mineral Oil as Your Moisturizer.  Both are great as protection when you have been on the slopes or out in the icy cold.   Both of these are very heavy so it is best to use them at night.  To get this great protection, just apply it to your skin, wipe off with a cotton ball or pad and then reapply. In the morning wash you face as usual.  You can also use the Vaseline and mineral oil to soften and soothe your lips.
