Should I Stretch Before I Exercise?

Even though we have all heard that we should stretch before we exercise to increase flexibility and strength also to avoid soreness, cramps and doing other injury to our bodies, not all of bother to stretch out. Not only do some of us not stretch, most of us who do stretch do not do it properly nor do we do it long enough to do our body the most good. The main reason most people do not stretch properly is because the stretching technique can be a little uncomfortable.


Everyone does need to stretch before exercises to warm your muscles. Some gyms now offer the services of a trainer for stretching sessions to teach proper technique, key moves and demonstrations of all the right stretches. With the trainers help you can be taught to go into deeper stretches to give your muscles a more adequate warm-up for your exercise routine. These trainers are well worth the time and money, especially if you know you need help with your stretching.


But before you run out and hire the first personal trainer you see, make sure you check them out.
Before you start...
Make sure your trainer is certified and qualified to teach stretching techniques. Ask your trainer if s/he has taken classes for stretching or if s/he has the necessary certificate(s).
Don't cut back on your regular fitness routine when you start your stretching exercises. Let the stretching be the prelude to your main routine and the last thing you do after your routine.



Consult your physician before you begin any new activities.

Skin cancer is a possibility if you spend too much time in direct sunlight, especially without proper protection.

1 small egg yolk,
1 teaspoon of honey
2 tablespoons of extra virgin olive oil
1 tablespoons of brown or white sugar
2 drops of lemon essential oil

Place the egg yolk in a small bowl and break it up, add the honey and olive oil and stir it very well. Stir in the sugar. Add the essential oil last.

After all of the ingredients are mixed very well, massage it onto your clean damp hands and body.     4 tablespoons of virgin olive oil
    1 teaspoon of honey
    1 tablespoon of grated beeswax
    1 table spoon of cocoa butter
    1 teaspoon of vitamin E oil
    4 drops of strawberry flavored oil

    In a small saucepan, melt the olive oil, beeswax and cocoa butter over low heat. When it is melted, remove from the heat and allow it to cool for -+3 minutes.

    Stir in the Vitamin E oil and the strawberry flavor. Pour the lipgloss in containers.

    20 fresh cranberries
    2 tablespoons of sweet almond oil
    2 teaspoons of honey
    2 drops of vitamin E oil.

    Mix the ingredients in a double heat-proof or microwave safe bowl and heat it in a double boiler. Stir well and crush the cranberries. Let the mixture sit and cool for five minutes then strain to remove all of the pieces. Strain twice more, then set aside to cool completely then separate and put the lip gloss in containers.

    2 tablespoons each; calendula oil, tea tree oil, olive oil, and lemon balm
    1 tablespoon each; of beeswax and cocoa butter

    Remove from the heat and let it cool for a few minutes. Stir in the remaining ingredients except the vitamin E oil.

    After all ingredients are added and well mixed, add the vitamin E oil. Continue to stir while the mixture solidifies - this will allow the honey to evenly dispersed throughout. Getting rid of cold sore is easy with this remedy.

    Mix 1/2 cup each of coconut oil and shea butter, petroleum jelly, or cocoa butter in a heat-proof container.

    • Sage Rinse - Darken Gray Hair 3 tablespoons of black tea, 3 tablespoons of sage. Put the tea and sage in 2 cups of boiling water and let it sit for 1 hour. Then pour it very slowly over your hair.

    • Forever Blonde Rinse your hair after each shampoo with a mixture of 1 tablespoon of lemon juice and 1 quart of water. Let it drip and catch the lemon water, pour the lemon water over your hair again. Gently squeeze the water from your hair and wait 10 minutes - sit with your hair in the sun if you can - then rinse very well with warm water. Condition as usual.

    • Blond Highlights 1 tablespoons of lemon juice and 3 tablespoons of chamomile tea brewed in 2 cups of water. Let the tea sit for one hour. If you use loose tea, strain twice. Add the lemon juice and mix. Pour the mixture over your just washed hair and sit with your hair in the sun for 30 minutes. Rinse your hair very well with warm water. Condition as usual. After a few weeks you will notice your 'natural' blonde highlights.

    • Champagne Rinse Combine 1/2 cup each of old champagne and hot water. Rinse your just washed and conditioned hair with the champagne mix. Style as usual.

    • Cherry Bark Tea - For Dark Hair Or to cover gray. Prepare a very strong tea using equal parts black tea and cherry bark. After you have shampooed your hair, rinse with the strong tea twice. Let it sit for two minutes then rinse thoroughly with luke warm water.

        After you have made your recipe, store it in an air-tight container. Most of the recipes last about 21 days.

        Pour six to eight drops in your bath to get the desired effect.

        The therapies can also be inhaled, but you should inhale the aroma therapies only if you are familiar with this method.
